William Henry Bragg, Jr. (Billy), age 66, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 28, 2015, at Select Specialty in Augusta after a short illness.
Billy was born on April 22, 1949, to the late William Henry Bragg, Sr. and Rebie Williamson Bragg. A lifelong resident of Jenkins County, Billy enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, and Georgia Tech on television. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his beautiful grandchildren who were the absolute light of his world.
He was preceded in death by his older sister, Gloria Bragg Evans, who he lovingly called Gowah. Billy worked at Jenkins County Hospital for 30 years and served as an EMT for Jenkins County. He was a 1967 graduate of Jenkins County High School and a member of West Millen Baptist Church.
Survivors include his three children, Maianna Telese Bragg Bailey (Bill) of Waynesboro; Valerie Gay Bragg Oglesby (Jason) of Garfield; William Henry (Tres) Bragg III of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Logan Miller Nunnally; Jasi Lyn Oglesby; Moring Gail Bailey; Jax Vinson Oglesby; the mother of his children, Cynthia Frances Gay Bragg of Waynesboro; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Lee, Larry Hall, Dean Dailey, Jack Kent, Jody Bowers, J. C. Sherrod, Walter Rabitsch Jr., Gene Wiggins, Ollie Moore, and Jason Jenkins.
Visitation will be at 9:00 A.M. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home. Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Millen Cemetery.
