Willard (Bill)
Clayton
Sep 13, 1947 — May 22, 2025
Millen
Bill Clayton, a proud country boy who grew up in Millen, Georgia, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on May 22, 2025. His journey began in the quiet fields and back roads of Jenkins County, where he learned the value of hard work, honesty, and kindness- traits that stayed with him throughout his life.
Bill had a deep love for the land, the outdoors, and the simple pleasures of country living. He was the kind of man who could fix anything with his hands, met every task with quiet determination, and simply did what needed to be done. After earning a degree in agriculture, he worked on the family dairy farm. When he wasn't on the family farm, you could find him working on a tractor, watching a Georgia football game, or at a NASCAR race. Bill lived life with a quiet strength and gentle spirit. We now have to say goodbye to a good man. A quiet man. A simple man. But more than that, we carry forward what he taught us; that a meaningful life doesn't have to be loud- it just has to be true.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Stanley Clayton; his brother, Gregg Clayton; and his beloved son, Chris Clayton.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Clayton; his brothers Jack Clayton, Jerry Clayton (Nancy), Ben Clayton (Michelle); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen, Georgia on May 24, 2025, from 2-4 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor a life well lived. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
