Wendell Sumner's Obituary
Mr. Wendell Sumner, age 85, of 1585 Hilltonia Rd., died Sunday, October 20, 2013 from injuries received in an auto accident.
He was born January 17, 1928 in Wrightsville, GA, was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, an auto technician, and a member of the Green Fork Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Southeast Georgia Timing Association.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Gail S. Sommers.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p. m. Wednesday, at the Green Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Sharpe Sumner; a son, Starke Clu Sumner of Millen; two grandsons Ryan and Loyd Sommers of Savannah; a granddaughter, Joelle Sumner and a great grandson, Karson Archer.
Active Pallbearers will be Brad Davis, Jason Lindsey, Daniel Posey, David Dickey, Charles Sikes, John Reed, B. J. Rollins, and Lee Dickey.
Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
