Mr. Tony Flakes, Sr., age 60, of 3367 Parramore Hill Rd., Millen, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

He was born in Burke County, was a Millwright for 35 years, retired from Shearouse Lumber Company. and was a member of the Scarboro Baptist Church.

Tony was a dedicated husband, son, father, and grandfather. He loved people and loved to joke with everyone.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Flakes.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a. m. Monday at the Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Archer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Flakes of Millen, children, Jill Clayton of Millen, Tina (Adam) Oglesby of Millen, Jodi (Freddie) Hendrix of Rincon, Jed Clayton of Millen, Jay (Lavon) Clayton of Millen, Tony (Melodi) Flakes Jr. of Sardis, Jessie (Suzan) Flakes of Augusta, and Whitney (Randy) Chance of Sardis; his father, R. L. Flakes of Girard; his siblings, Patricia (David) Jarvis of Swainsboro, Ronnie (Kathy) Flakes of Vidette, Jerry (Teresa) Flakes of Sardis, and Sharon Zipperer of Girard; 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Active Pallbearers will be Herbie Dixon, Earl Hendrix, Jasper Godbee, Kerby Dubberly, Raymond McLamb, Johnny Bramblett, Randy Bohannon, and Al Hill.

Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of Shearouse Lumber Company.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home of Millen.
