Tommy Messex, 67, died Monday, October 17, 2011.
He was born in Charleston, retired from the Charleston Navy Yard, and a Baptist.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Green Fork Baptist cemetery with Dr. Ray Freeman and Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Peel Messex; 2 sons, Derrick (Jennifer) Messex and Travis (Teresa) Messex both of St. George, SC; a daughter, Wramie (Harry) Spafford of Summerville, SC; mother, Lee Messex of Millen; brother, Jerry Messex of Millen; 2 sisters, Brenda Messex of Greenville, SC and Wraellen (Larry) Winn of Easley, SC; 4 grandsons; and 3 step-children, Letty Mallard of Girard, Lanny Peel of Missouri, and Lavon Peel of Fayette, ME.
