Obituary

With profound sadness, we share the news of the passing of Thomas Wilson Reid, who peacefully entered eternal rest at the age of 88 on June 16, 2026. Born in the charming little town of Louisville, Georgia, Thomas found his true home in Millen, Georgia. His warm spirit and unwavering faith in God, country, and family brought light to everyone he met.

A dedicated servant, Thomas devoted 22 years to the United States Navy as a flight engineer, continuing his commitment by serving overseas within the Intelligence community. However, it was the profound love he shared with his wife, Naomi Reid, that truly defined his life. For an extraordinary 65 years, together they nurtured a family filled with warmth and devotion and it was this family that formed the very core of his being.

As a father, Thomas was a steadfast guide to Denise (Kenny) Bragg, Sherry (Glen) Hankinson, and Thomas A. (Roxanne) Reid. His heart swelled with pride for his grandchildren—Alysia (Brodie) Bowen, Lauren Bragg, Amanda Bragg, Taylor (Joshua) Clearman, John Bragg, Ceara Reid, Bailee Reid, and Connor Luce. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Annabelle Hankinson and Lily Stanley, whose lives were forever enriched by his gentle wisdom and love.

Thomas joins his beloved parents, Jess Oliver and Marion Reid, as well as his siblings—Maggie, Bobbie, Grace, Katie, Russell, Charlie, and Junior Reid—who welcomed him with open arms.

In honor of Thomas's wishes, the family will receive visitors from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday evening, June 18 at their residence located at 4324 GA Hwy 17 South, Millen, GA. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Scarboro Baptist Church, 4216 Scarboro Church Loop, Millen, GA 30442 or Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 3233 Oak Hill Church Road, Millen, GA 30442, honoring his legacy of compassion and generosity.

As we celebrate Thomas's life, we reflect on a legacy rich with love, service, and devotion—a steadfast testament to a life beautifully lived.
