Teresa Clifton
Wommack
Oct 27, 1952 — Oct 25, 2024
Millen
Teresa Clifton Wommack, 71, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 25, 2024 after a tough fight with Dementia. Dementia did not win, mama beat it this time and is now rejoicing in at Heaven.
Teresa was born October 27 1952 in Millen, GA to H.T. and Floretta Clifton. She graduated from Jenkins County High School in 1970 and started Middle Georgia later that fall only to come home and not attend school for another 21 years. Mama married the love of her life after 2 months of dating on December 23, 1978. After several years of raising and caring for 2 boys and her husband, mama decided it was time to go back to school. She would work during the day and attend school at night so she could get her teaching degree which was her "dream job". Mama graduated from Georgia Southern University with her bachelor's degree. She began teaching in the Special Education department and students were her heart. She loved the students like her own. While continuing to work and raise a family, she was able to obtain her Master's degree and later her 6-year degree. Mama spent 25 years teaching in the Swainsboro and Jenkins County School system before retiring in 2020.
When mama wasn't teaching she could be found tagging along in all the adventures and wild events that came with raising 2 boys. She was a taxi, a cook, a doctor, a tailor, a therapist, a vet but most importantly she was the best mom to ever walk this earth. She made all your problems go away with a hot meal and her love. After many years mama gained the title of Mimi and she showed the same love to all of her grandkids just as she did her boys.
Survivors are her loving husband of 45 years, Toby Wommack and children, Lee (Catherine) Lewis of Waynesboro, Terrence (Brandi) Wommack of Millen and 6 beautiful grandchildren, Terra, Maci, Jace, TJ, Savanna and Tinslee.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
