Tammie Lane Cowart went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2025.  She was born on October 2, 1963 in Millen, Georgia to Mary Jo Hulsey Lane and the late Glover Kent Lane.

Tammie was a loving wife who cherished her home and family. She found joy in life's simple moments- especially cutting grass while listening to gospel music and brought warmth and kindness to everyone she met.  She enjoyed traveling- especially cruises, gardening, animals and holiday celebrations with her family and friends.

She was a faithful and active member of Elam Baptist Church and the Highlanders Sunday School Class.  Tammie dedicated 21 years to the Georgia Department of Agriculture, where she served as the Companion Animal & Equine South Georgia Field Supervisor. She previously worked with the Jenkins County Probation office and Bank of Millen. Throughout her career, she was widely respected and admired for her professionalism, compassion and dedication.

Tammie was preceded in death by her father, Glover Kent Lane; grandparents, Roscoe and Myrtice Hulsey, Ivey and Amy Lane and sister-in-law, Ann Cowart Reynolds-Derthick.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Anthony Cowart; her children, Zack (Amy) Cowart and Mary Beth Cowart; her mother, Mary Joe Hulsey Lane; sister, Debbie Lane (Tony) Cooper; brother-in-law, James (Veronica) Cowart; nieces and nephews, Justin (Kellie) Cooper, Amy (Philip) Akins, Todd (Dana) Cowart, Jodi Cowart (Matt) Thomas, Britt (Laura) Reynolds and Paige Reynolds (Drais) Von Hagan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Elam Baptist Church. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, October 31, 2025 at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
