Shelton Foster Chance, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on October 18, 2024. Shelton was born in Jenkins County on January 17, 1943 to the late Ralph and Madge Chance. He was married forty-six years to the love of his life, Shirley L. Chance, and they built a life together in Millen, GA.

He was a graduate of Jenkins County High School and attended Berry College briefly. He started out working as a farmer and eventually retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of being a rural mail carrier. He was a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Madge Chance, and his brother, Richard Chance, all of Millen, GA.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley L. Chance; Son, Seth Chance (Shayna) of Olympia, WA; Grandchild, Rowan Chance; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Dry Branch Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Tim Fields and Wayne Powell officiating.
