Shelby Jean Aycock Harvell passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. She was born on May 28, 1937, to Jesse Mathew Aycock and Exie Brown Aycock of Millen, GA. She grew up on the family farm and graduated in 1955 from Jenkins County High School. Upon graduation, she enrolled in Lee College, Cleveland, TN where she met and married her husband of 65 ½ years, Kenneth T. Harvell.

Shelby served with her husband in Full-Time Ministry for over forty years. Also, with three young children at home, she enrolled in Lee College and earned her Bachelor of Education taught kindergarten for many years at Mayfield Elementary in the Cleveland City Schools System.

Throughout their ministry, Shelby successfully led many large Ladies programs, both on a state level and with local ministries. She was a tireless and diligent worker for the Lord. She had a green thumb and one of her passions was her vegetable gardens. She enjoyed the entire process from planting the seeds to harvesting fresh vegetables. much like her mother, Exie. She was a farm girl at heart no matter where she lived.

Finally, Shelby's ultimate goal was to be home with Jesus, but she will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She has accomplished her greatest desire. SHE IS AT HOME!

Shelby was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Aycock Hamon and an infant brother Jesse David Aycock.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth T. Harvell of Conyers; her children Kenneth Duane Harvell (Tammy) of Dacula, Denise Harvell Armstrong (Roger) of Lilburn, and Dana Harvell Cline (Zore) of Conyers. She is also survived by her siblings, Joann Aycock Hammond (Kenneth) of Statesboro, J. M. Aycock of Statesboro, Dr. Robert G. Aycock (Diana) of San Rafael, CA, and Deborah Aycock Fish (Ken) of Greenwood, SC; her grandchildren, Talon Harvell (Kristi) of Douglasville, Kyle Armstrong (Amanda) of Guyton, Brent Armstrong (Kim) of Lilburn, Randi Harvell of Dacula Kali Cline of Conyers, Kelsey Cole (Brent) of Guyton, and Parker Cline (Carmen) of Euless, TX; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

The celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Branch Church, Hwy. 25, Garfield, GA. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
