Sarah Marie Carter Becton, age 93, died Friday, February 24, 2017 at Optim Medical Center Millen.

She was born in Albany, GA to Robert L. and Celestine Irving Carter, grew up in Burke County, but lived most of her adult life in Jenkins County where she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired as a seamstress from Burke Manufacturing Co. in 1985, and was a member of Big Horse Creek Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and loved to serve the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Becton and Grandson, Shannion.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p. m. until the funeral service at 4:00 p. m. Sunday at Big Horse Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Maurice Crowder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her three sons, Jerry and Jimmy Becton of Millen, and Danny (Vivian) Becton of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Jerry Eubanks, Janet (Michael) Collier, Danny Becton, Jr., Tommy Becton; three great grandchildren, Will and Drew Collier and Sophie Becton; a brother, Tracy Carter and a sister, Alice Carter Martin.

Active Pallbearers will be Tommy Becton, Danny Becton Jr., Will Collier, Drew Collier, Will Finch, Robert Newsome, Tristan Bennett, and Joshua Adams.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan Pye, Case Burke, Chase Thompson, Stanley Thompson, Trenton Harley, and Chase Harley.
