Mrs. Sarah Becton Brinson, age 85, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016.

She was a lifelong resident of Jenkins County, a retired Registered Nurse, and a member of Ogeechee Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brinson was the daughter of the late Andrew and Vera Mae Youngblood Becton, graduated from Millen High School in 1948 and the Barrett School of Nursing in Augusta in 1951. She returned to Millen in 1952 and married Lester Brinson Sr. She practiced at Mulkey Hospital and retired as Director of Nursing at Bethany Nursing Center.

She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Joseph Brinson and sister, Jacci Becton Fuller.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Friday, at the Ogeechee Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Edwin Taylor, Butch Taylor, and Andy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth (Rodney) Collins; a son, Lester E. Brinson Jr. of Millen; Grandchildren, Tyler Brinson and Arley Piper; great granddaughter, Ellie Eskabar; sisters, Betty Bargeron of Sardis and Dorothy Ketchum of Westfield, WI; sisters-in-law, Claudia Brinson, Jackie Brinson, and Minnie Johnson.


Active Pallbearers will be Steve Brinson, Danny Brinson, Randy Johnson, Howell Bargeron, Larry Brinson, Wade Brinson, and Jerry Brinson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Brinson, Taylor Brinson, Troy Standridge, Will Brinson, Ronnie Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Frankie Brinson, Hugh Johnson, and Drew Allen.
