Mrs. Ruby Rebecca Lanier Oglesby, age 97, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Optim Medical Center.

She was born in Jenkins County, a homemaker, and a member of the Union Grove United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Union Grove United Methodist Church with Revs. Tony Thompson, Stanley Mills, and Tommy Pullium officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Oglesby; son, Lamar Oglesby; daughter, Marie Screws; and son-in-laws, Lewis Fleming, Sonny Mills, and Randy Boone.

She is survived by her 8 daughters, Myra Fleming of Millen, Sue Beasley (Joe) of Statesboro, Ruby Roberts (Johnny) of Gainsville, Karen Cheek (Jimmy) of Swainsboro, Geneva "Gennie" Oglesby of Oakwood, Vivian Mills of Kite, Eloise Coleman (David) and Beverly Boulineau (Joey) of Midville; 3 sons, Reamer Oglesby (Ramona) of Swainsboro, David Oglesby (Teresa) and Steve Oglesby (Julie) both of Midville; a sister, Lila Lively of Statesboro; 37 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen.
