Robert "Machine Gun" McKinney, age 88, died, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Bethany Nursing Center after a long illness.
He was born in Screven County, a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, a retired dairyman, and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church where he attended the Prayer Group Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Lena Dickey McKinney, brother, Buck McKinney and sister, Nellie Edenfield.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a. m. until funeral services at 11:00 a. m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Archer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Mae Reddick McKinney; a son, Wayne McKinney (Barb) of Millen; Becky Rountree (Thomas) of Sylvania; grandchildren, Tabatha Hoogstad (Greg), Travis Tankersley, Holly Bazemore (Ronnie), Brandi McKinney, and Wendy Morris; step-grandchildren, Rob Simone, Ashley Simone, Kevin Rountree (Vett) and Delanie Lee (Daniel); great grandchildren, Aliyan Tankersley, Trent Tankersley, Ivey Bazemore; step-great grandchildren, Lynnlie Rountree, Adi Rountree, Hadley Lee, Zoey Lee, and Emerson Lee.
Active Pallbearers will be Wally Sasser Jr., Danny McMillan, Tony Taylor, Bob Dailey, Edward Lynn, Randy Dailey, and Bruce Dailey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
