Robert Lee Burke, 79, of Sardis, GA, passed away on September 13, 2024, at the VA Hospital in Augusta, GA. Born on July 28, 1945, in Millen, GA, Robert was a cherished member of his community and a proud Vietnam veteran.
Robert retired from Colonial Baking Co. after 28 years of dedicated service. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, which included spending time with his friends at Spring Branch Hunting Club, riding dirt roads, boiling peanuts, fishing, and cherishing moments with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Billie Ann Burke; daughter-in-law, Glenda (Gigi) Burke; grandchildren, Henry Robert Burke (Samantha), MaryAnn Elizabeth Burke, Lane William Clayton, all of Sardis, GA, and Meghan Allen Hamner (John) of Claxton, GA; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh and Kenleigh Burke of Sardis, GA, and Makenna and Mattilyn Hamner of Claxton, GA; nephews, Earl Burke, Jr of Waynesboro, GA and Bruce Raffield of Branwell, SC.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Ethel Burke of Millen, GA; children, Timothy Robert Burke and Angela Nicole Burke both of Sardis, GA; and brothers, Earl Burke, Sr. and Tommy Raffield both of of Millen, GA.

Burial and graveside services will be Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 5:00pm at Green Fork Cemetery with Military Honors in Millen, GA.  Robert's life was one of service, friendship, and family, a legacy that will continue to live on through his loved ones.
