Rita Burke, 63, of Millen, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024. She was born on July 21, 1961, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Albert Redd and Annette (Pat) Harloam.

Rita was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her children, Danny (Kali) Burke of Brooklet, GA, and Christy Burke of Millen, GA; her cherished grandchildren, Blake Hucks, Burkley Cook, Carlee Burke, and Britten Burke; her three sisters, Patricia (Joey) Folger, Donna (Sam) Sherrill, and Lisa Harloam; her brother, Wayne (Fay) Redd; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her brother, William (Bubba) Redd and her step father, Pat Harloam.

Her career spanned various roles, including working as a seamstress at Jockey International, a pharmacy tech at Linder Pharmacy, and a bank teller at Queensborough National Bank and Trust. In each of these roles, she was known for her kindness, dedication, and the personal connections she built with those around her.

A woman who never met a stranger, Rita was deeply loved by family and friends alike. She had an infectious spirit and was known for her warmth, humor, and generous heart. Above all, the true highlight of her life was her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to those who have supported them during this time. Rita will be forever remembered for her love, laughter, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

There will be a private ceremony at Green Fork Baptist Church at a later date.
