Mr. Ray Garvin, 81, died Friday, June 9, 2023 at his residence.

He was born in Jenkins County, U. S. Army Veteran, a retired insurance underwriter for Life of Georgia and member of the West Millen Baptist Church. He was also a  long time member of Screven Lodge #248 F&AM, and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cleve Garvin and brother, Steve.

Funeral Services will be 2:30 pm Tuesday at West Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Perry Hearn officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie D. Garvin; son; Stacy Garvin; daughter, Kelly Thompson (Benje); his mother, Barnetta Waye Garvin; four sisters, Faye Long (Wayne) of Jacksonville, Joyce Garvin of Waynesboro; Vivian Garvin, and Paula Currington both of Millen; brother, Roy Garvin (Mary Margaret) of Millen; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.

Active Pallbearers will be Larry Evans, Dale Suggs, Mike Wiggins, Rodney Garvin, Mike Adams, and Don Oglesby.
