Paul Townsend Lewis transitioned into his new heavenly body on Sunday, November 13, after a short illness.
Townsend was born in Millen, Georgia to Robert Grady Lewis, Sr. "Bobby" and Patricia Townsend Lewis "Patsy". He was a member of Millen Baptist Church and joined under Rev. Cliff Morris, serving as an usher.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at William Grove Church of God in Christ with Supt. Kenneth H. Thomas, Sr. presiding and Rev. Dr. James E. Thomas, Sr. eulogizing. Burial will follow at the Millen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jody Bowers, Cutler Bernard, Eric Bernard, Ulysses Robertson, Vincent Robertson, and Tracy Edenfield.
Townsend worked alongside his father for many years at Lewis Service Station in Millen. In his spare time, he loved fishing, watching Georgia football games, and most importantly spending time with his family. His wife and children remember him as having a great sense of humor, which he passed along to his son Trentson, and cracking jokes even in his final days here on Earth. Known by many for his heart, Townsend embodied the Christian philosophy of giving.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Patsy Lewis.
Townsend is survived by his wife, Brinnie Thomas Lewis; daughter Jocelyn Lewis Green (Perry) of Grayson ; 3 sons , Charles Maurice Wright of Millen, Corey Reese of Millen, Paul Trentson Titus Lewis of Sandy Springs; four grandchildren; 2 sisters Robbie Ewald of Evans; Denise Obringer (Bob) of St. Simons; 1 brother Robert G. "Butch" Lewis, Jr. (Rosa) of Rincon; and a host of nieces and nephews and in-laws.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Crowe Fields Funeral Home.
