Obituary

Ms. Patsy Ann Weathersby Burke, age 79 entered into eternal rest on Friday December 24, 2022 at Pruitt Health (Bethany) in Millen GA.

Ms. Burke was born on May 25, 1943, in Jenkins County, Georgia to the late Horace Henry Weathersby Sr. and Inez Saxon Weathersby.  She was a homemaker for many years before she became a bank teller at Ogeechee Valley Bank later retiring from Regions Bank.  She was a member of Millen Baptist Church and the Anita Tinley Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Joseph L. Burke Sr, her brothers Horace Henry Weathersby Jr, Franklin Weathersby and Grady Weathersby and her sister Grace Weathersby Ezell.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening December 27, 2022 from 5 to 8 at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at 11 am at Millen Baptist Church with the Reverend Brad Asbury officiating.  Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Millen.

Survivors include her son Joseph L. Burke Jr. of Millen, her daughter Leigh Ann Burke Hendrix of Millen, two grandsons, Joseph Brooks Hendrix of Dunwoody, and Joshua Kasey Hendrix of Statesboro, one sister, Vivian Weathersby Forehand of Hiltonia GA, one brother Donald Weathersby of Vienna GA, her sisters-in-law Pearl Weathersby of Millen and Mary Weathersby Simpson of Burlington North Carolina.

Active pall bearers are her nephews Horace Henry Weathersby III, Jon Weathersby, Lee Dell Weathersby, Rusty Forehand, Roger Forehand, and Tommy Mead. Honorary pallbearer will be Ricky Forehand.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Millen Baptist Church, P.O. Box 827, Millen GA 30442 or Pruitt Health Hospice (Care Foundation)-Swainsboro, 667 South Main Street, Swainsboro GA 30401.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Jenkins County Medical Center and PruittHealth (Bethany) for the excellent care of their mother during her illness.
