Mrs. Ortents Burke "Miss Piggie" Beard, age 84, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Pruitt Bethany.

She was born in Jenkins County, a retired childcare provider, and member of the West Millen Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton "Al" Beard; her parents Ivin and Evie Loren Burke; brothers Charles, Donald, and Ronald Burke; sisters Myrtle McKinney; Mildred Parrish and grandson Craig Jackson.

Visitation will be at the church starting one hour before the service.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday at West Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Allen and Rev. Butch Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are her grandsons.

Survivors include her three daughters, Linda B Jackson (Round), Joan B. Brown (Ralph), and Marie B. Taylor (Ricky) all of Millen. Grandchildren Winona (Chuck) Lindsey; Christa Walters; Al Jackson; Richard Taylor; Lisa (Chuck) Richardson; Luke Morris; and Jada (Brad) Dailey, all of Millen. She has ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
