Mrs. Nira Skinner Chance, 83, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Screven County, a retired seamstress for Jockey International and a homemaker. Mrs. Chance was a loving mother and grandmother and was a member of Green Fork Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Byron L. Chance and son, Wayne Chance.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p. m. Saturday at Green Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Roland Dann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail Chance; 3 grandsons, Wayne Chance Jr. of Perkins, Travis Chance (Shannon) of Statesboro and Jason Ballard (Carrie) of Jacksonville, FL; a granddaughter, Danielle Williams of Millen and 5 great grandchildren, Maeson and Marett Chance, Byron Williams, Zachary Williams and Trace Williams; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Chance of Evans.

Pallbearers will be Freddy Brinson, Keith Taylor, Tony Taylor, Edwin Cates, Ken Thompson, and Byron Williams.
