Nancy Jean McLamb, age 83, passed away at home on September 17, 2026.
Jean was an active gardener, seamstress, birdwatcher, Elvis and Conway Twitty fan and most of all a loving mother and grandmother.
She loved to talk about her days of sewing at Jockey and all of the great people who worked alongside her. Her family was the center of her heart and she took great pride in her yardwork. She could be seen every Saturday outside cutting grass, working in her flowerbeds or even burning off sticks and leaves she had rounded up. Nine times out of ten, she would more than likely have one of her grandbabies in tow. She was a foster parent that made an impact on a few lives over the years, especially Sandra Ivey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxi and Dink Woods; husband, Guy I. McLamb Sr.; special friend, Thomas Hughes; son, Guy I. McLamb Jr. “Bubba”; granddaughter, Bridgette Baxter and brothers, Rayford and Clinton Woods.
Survivors include her son, Raymond (Grace) McLamb of Millen; daughters, Twana (Ben) Hays of St. Helena, SC and Dee Dee (Dwana) McLamb of Millen; her grandchildren, Courtney McLamb Sharpe, Dustin (Crystal) McLamb and Kristin McLamb; six great grandchildren, Druanna Wilkerson, Alana (Maci) Johnson, Addyson McLamb, Travis Adams, Kynzleigh McLamb and Kaison McLamb; two great great grandchildren, Cecil Mills and Laren Rye Wilkerson; two brothers, Wayne (Rhonda) Woods and Leonard Woods along with many nieces and nephews and her fur baby, Smokey.
Pallbearers will be Alana Johnson, Marty Woods, Gailyn Thompson, Tommy Hughes, Bryan Oglesby and Chris Oglesby.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, September 21, 2026 at West Millen Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Millen Cemetery
