Nancy Head, age 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Jenkins County Hospital following an extended illness.

Nancy was born in Monroe, GA. She was a graduate of Monroe High School. Nancy was a paraprofessional in Jenkins County from 1974 until 1996 when she retired. She was a member of Millen Baptist Church and the Anita Tinley Sunday School class. Nancy loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Nimmie Preston of Monroe, GA, her husband of 53 years Roy Head, her brother Nimrod Preston, and sister,Carolyn Goodwin.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Millen Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Brad Asbury officiating. Burial will follow at the Millen Cemetery.

Nancy is survived by her three children Cindy and Brien Linder of Millen, GA, Mike Head and Anette of Millen, GA, and Steve Head and Corinne of Ball Ground, GA. Nancy was also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren including: Jamie and Jacob Wilkinson and their children Brooks and Blakelynn of Vidalia, GA. Seth Linder of Millen, GA. Katelyn And Taylor DeKalb and their children Michael, Caroline, Kathryn of Millen, GA. Jessica and Jordan Barnes of Dublin, GA, Ashley Head of Cumming, GA and Blake Head of Birmingham, AL.  Nancy was also survived by her sister Winifred Thomas of Athens, GA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are Jordan Barnes, Gus Cheney, Taylor DeKalb, Blake Head, Dwayne Purvis, King Rocker, Jacob Wilkinson and Henry Young.
