Obituary

Mrs. Myra Cheney Hall, 72, died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, peacefully at home and surrounded by family in Millen, Georgia.

She was born in Jenkins County to the late Julian and Barbara DuVall Cheney.  Myra was a University of Georgia graduate, a retired media specialist for the Hall County Public School System and was a dedicated attendee of Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church and member of Millen Baptist Church.

Myra had a passionate way of staying in touch with lifelong friends, a love of traveling, camping, collecting antiques, teaching the joys of reading, playing with her grandchildren at St. Simons, most motorcycle rides, and her beloved dogs, Jack Black (late) and Luke.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Mike Hall, her brother-in-law, Joseph Hall, and her sister-in-law, Janice Cheney.

Survivors include her loving sons, Pate Hall (Virginia) and Jess Hall of St. Simons Island; grandchildren, Jasper and Julian Hall; sister, Ginger Strazi (Tommy) of Orlando, Florida; brother, Roy Cheney of Millen, Georgia; and half-sister, Billy Joyce Strauser of Oxford, Mississippi.

Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Millen Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Millen Cemetery with the Reverend Brad Asbury officiating.
