Myra Elizabeth Oglesby Fleming, 88, a native of Midville, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2026.

Born on May 31, 1938, Myra was the daughter of the late Moses and Ruby Oglesby and the oldest daughter among 13 children.

Myra was a Christian who not only knew the Word of God, but lived the Word of God. Her faith was not something reserved for Sundays—it was woven into every part of her life. She lived each day with thanksgiving, loved deeply, gave freely, and continually pointed those around her toward the Lord. Through both the joys and sorrows of life, she trusted Him faithfully.

She was married to the late Lewis Fleming, with whom she built a life and family she treasured. Myra was a lifelong caregiver, always finding someone who needed looking after, feeding, encouraging, praying for, or simply loving. She retired from the Boxing Department of Jockey International after many years of dedicated service.

Her greatest joy and proudest legacy, however, was her family. She wanted nothing more than for each of them to know the Lord, trust Him, and lean on Him through every joy and every heartache life might bring.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie (Laurie) Fleming of Millen; three grandchildren, Josh (Paige) Fleming of Millen, Elizabeth (Bobby) McFarlin of Millen, and Kelsey (John Wilder) Page of Kite; her great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Fleming, Abby McFarlin, Colby Fordham, Hunter Fleming, Gracie McFarlin, and Laney Grace Fordham; siblings, Sue Beasley, Ruby (Johnny) Roberts, Reamer Oglesby, Gennie Oglesby, Eloise Coleman, David (Teresa) Oglesby, Karen (Jimmy) Cheeks, Beb (Joey) Boulineau and Steve (Julie) Oglesby.

She was preceded in death by her beloved great-grandsons, Joshua and Ridge Fleming; siblings, Marie Screws, Lamar Oglesby, Vivian (Sonny) Mills; sister-in-law, Ramona Oglesby and brother-in-laws, David Coleman and Joe Beasley.

Our hearts are heavy because we will miss her more than words can express, but we find peace in knowing where she is. We can picture her in Heaven, finally holding sweet Baby Joshua and sweet Baby Ridge, while sitting beneath great big pecan trees talking with her mother and her husband once again. And surely, somewhere nearby, there is a hot cup of coffee and a big piece of chocolate cake as they all enjoy the beautiful sight of Jesus together.

Myra's legacy will live on through the generations of her family and through every life she touched. She showed us what it meant to serve without expecting anything in return, to give thanks in all circumstances, to love people well, and above all, to love the Lord.

Those blessed enough to have known Myra during her time on Earth were given a glimpse of what an angel looks like—not because her life was without hardship, but because through it all, she chose faith, gratitude, kindness, and love.

Her family will grieve her absence, cherish her memory, and carry forward the faith she worked so faithfully to instill in them.

She knew the Word. She lived the Word. And now, she is in the presence of the One who gave us the Word.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at FairHaven Methodist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at Millen Cemetery following the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Oglesby, Steve Oglesby, Johnny Fleming, Larry Fleming, Bobby McFarlin, and John Wilder Page.

Serving as honorary pallbearers: Joey Boulineau, Jimmy Cheek, Reamer Oglesby, Johnny Roberts, Jake Bazemore, Norman Wilson, and Stephen Wilson, Sr.
