Modesto Leonardo Campo, M. D., 83, died Saturday evening, June 6, 2020 at his residence in Millen with family at his bedside. He had been a patient in the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice of several months.

Born February 12, 1937 in Buojoi, Colombia, he spent most of his childhood in Cali, Colombia, S. A. He attended the Univeritorio Del Valle in Cali. And graduated the Medical College there in 1954. Years later he moved to Millen and established a family practice there, remaining in Millen for 45 years. His love of medicine and his patients was only surpassed by his love for his family in Millen and his extended family in Cali.

Dr. Campo enjoyed his professional organizations, Ogeechee River Medical Society of Statesboro, Georgia Medical Association and the Southern Medical Association.

A Memorial service may be held at a later date.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Susan Harris Campo; daughters, Carolina C. Price (Mathew) of Roanoke, VA and Susana Campo of Millen; grandchildren, Valrie, Anna, Abigail Price; brother, Carlos Campo (Alboi Jucia) of Cali, Colombia; sister, Beatrize Campo of Cali, Colombia; nieces, Marcella C. Mannino, M. D. (Troy) of Houston, TX, Angela de Rueda (Daniel) of Cali, Colombia, Maria Isabel S. Simeroiy (Arnaud) of Sergy, France; nephews, Carlos Campo (Kay) of San Francisco, CA, Juan Carlos Salgado, M.D. of Indianapolis, Indiana.
