Michael D. Hurst, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in Millen, GA.

Mike was born and raised in Millen. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. One of his favorite past times was riding around the county to check the river levels. He also took great delight in feeding his pet squirrel, Henry. But above all, he loved spending time with his family, particularly spoiling his grandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Cora Bell Vickery Hurst and Hulley Mark Hurst, his brothers Don and Lindy Hurst, and his sisters Judy Hurst Oglesby and Sarah Hurst Wilson.

Survivors include his daughters, Melissa Hurst (Tristan) and Lori Godbee (Shane); grandchildren Samantha Lane (Walt), Kamdin Lane (Tyler), Isabelle Lane, Shay Godbee, and Kolton Godbee; one great-granddaughter, Emmalane "Miss M" Armstrong. He is also survived by sisters Betty Ford of Sylvania, GA and Jean Mobley of Rincon, GA, brother-in-law Johnny Oglesby of Millen, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Millen Cemetery with the Reverend Jeremy Lindsey officiating.
