Mrs. Mary Anna "Kitty" Walea Cross, 91, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

She was born in Emanuel County, retired from Jockey International, also a retired waitress from both McKinney's Pond Restaurant and Coleman Lake Restaurant. She was a member of the Union Grove United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and was also a member of the Moring Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, T. C. "Man" Cross, parents, Floyd and Viola Lamb Walea, two sisters, Annie Ruth (J A Jr.) Johnson and Fran (Batt Jr.) Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Union Grove United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Cravey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Steven Fields, Wayne Fields, Chesley B. Flanders, Lacey B. Frye III, Haywood Frye, and Harry "Mutt" Kennedy.

Survivors include her two daughters, Jane (Alan) Waller of Thomasville and Judy Mellinger of Augusta; a granddaughter, Jennifer Mellinger (PJ) Toreno; 2 nieces, Carolyn (Wayne) Fields of Millen and Vicki Feutral of Augusta; nephews, Carson (Frances) Cross of Midville and Carson Cross and Chandler Cross.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
