Martha Boone Taft passed away peacefully on August 13, 2018. She was born on September 14, 1933 in Brunswick, GA, to Robert Edward Boone, Sr. and Glyn Agnes Boone. She graduated from Glenn Academy in 1951. She attended Charity Hospital Nursing School in New Orleans, LA and graduated as a Registered Nurse in June, 1954. In September, 1954 she married Marvin A. Taft, Jr. (Mike) in Millen, GA. She worked as a nurse in Davenport, IA and Savannah, GA for 45 years and retired with Mike to Millen in 1999.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Robert E. Boone, Sr., her brothers, Bob Boone, Glenn Boone and Nick Boone and her grandson, Kevin Taft.

Martha is survived by her husband, Mike Taft, their daughters, Lesa Taft Cox and husband Jim of Fuquay Varina, NC and Karen Taft Barnard and husband Dave of Dallas, GA, as well as three granddaughters, Leslie Sapp, Christi Palacios and Shelbi Ruark. She is also survived by great granddaughters, Avery Ruark, Anna Grace Sapp, Hayden Ruark, Stella Ferrill and Ava Sapp, and numerous neices and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.

Memorial service will be held at Millen United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
