Mark D. Posey, 64, joined Jesus for the celebration of Jesus' birthday, Friday, December 25, 2020. He passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, LA after an extended illness.

Mark was born in Richmond County and grew up in Jackson, South Carolina. He was a Baptist and a former Deacon of the Millen Baptist Church. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 150 of Augusta.  He was recently employed as a Pipe Designer for H&K Engineering in Baton Rouge, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Nicholas Posey and his mother, Virginia T. Posey.

A family graveside service will be 2:00 p. m. Thursday at Millen Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Lindsey officiating.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sunny Simmons Posey; Children: Mark Daniel Posey(Amanda), Millen, GA and Vanessa Posey Reeves(Paul), Portal, GA.; Grandchildren: Delylia Renee' Posey, Baton Rouge, LA, Jada and Jase Griner, Millen, GA; Five Brothers, Nicholas B. Posey(Rosa) Augusta, GA, David M. Posey(Gail), Olar, SC,  William E.(Bill) Posey(Lisa),SC, Richard D. Posey, Jackson, SC, and Robert J. Posey (Donna) Jackson, SC.
