Marian Dwelle Reeves, age 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 2, 2015 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro after a short illness.
She was born August 16, 1935 to the late Eugene Bates Dwelle and Jennie Joyner Dwelle and was the youngest of nine children. She was a lifelong resident of Jenkins County where she loved living on the family farm and was happiest when spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and spending time at the mountain house in Highlands with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Hoke S. Reeves, Jr, an infant son, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
She was a member of the Millen United Methodist Church and a member of the Beulah Garner Sunday School Class, Morning Sunshine Circle, Thursday Bible Study and Prayer Group and Golden Oldies. She also served as Chairperson of the Church Bereavement Committee for many years.
Survivors include a brother, Dr. Milton (Irene) Dwelle of Douglasville; two sons, R. Michael (Terri) Reeves of Millen, Hoke S.(Lynn) Reeves, III of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Claire(Scott) Henwood, Hannah (Dent) Derriso, Kate Reeves, Lilian Reeves, Mary Margaret Reeves, and Smith Reeves; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday at 12:30 in the Millen United Methodist Church Parlor followed by the Funeral at 2:00 in the Sanctuary. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Lanier, King Rocker, Matthew Rocker, Taylor Sturkie, Bob Dwelle, Scott Henwood, Dent Derriso, and Fred Davis.
