On June 2, 2015, surrounded by her family at her son Harry's home, the Lord sent his Angels for Mrs. Margaret B. Joyner, 87 years of age after an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5 at 11a.m. in the Community Church of Millen with Sister Wilma Byrd officiating. Interment in Millen Cemetery.

She was a lifelong Christian having last been a member of Millen Church of God. Her life for our Lord began when she was just a little girl of about 7 years old and attended Green Fork Baptist Church where she was baptized.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Joyner served the Lord in many churches and positions helping to bring in the lost and build for Christ our Lord's Army. Her most important endeavors were in truly seeking and serving God and her fellow mankind in whatever needs might arise.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Joyner of Millen, Ga. Parents, Mr. Elton E. and Mrs. Libbie L. Burke of Millen, Ga. Two brothers, Noel E. Burke, Thomson, Ga and Carey A. Burke, Millen, Ga. Two sisters, Luree B. Dickey, Millen, Ga. And Mrs. Mary Stuckey, Savannah, Ga. One granddaughter, Judith Teresa Smith Poppert, Vine Grove, Kentucky.

Mrs. Joyner's survivors include a family who loved and cherished her dearly. Her daughter, Linda J. Kight, Blythe, Ga. Three sons, Harry E. Joyner (Judy), Millen, Ga. Joseph E. Joyner (Sue), Garden Ridge, TX, Wilbur G. Joyner (Brenda), Millen, Ga. One sister, Mrs. Azzie Lee B. Abney, Beaumont, CA.

Her grandchildren were taken to church with their "Granny" from the time they were small infants to teenagers and always looked forward to those visits with her. Many of them continued to attend church with her on a regular basis as they were able to visit her.

Grandchildren are Donald D. Smith, Stacy J. Smith, Susanne McLaughlin, all of Augusta, Ga. Tara E. Johnson, Arlington, TX, Judith Taylor, Jennifer White and Eddie Joyner all of Millen, Ga. Brent Joyner and Jody Joyner of Atlanta, Ga. Cynthia M. and Carlton Joyner.

Great Grandchildren Adrianne Shepherd, Caleb Poppert, Stacy Lynn Smith, Kristin Judy, Thomas McLaughlin, Roger Aiden Johnson, Hayley Newton, Dalton Davis, Zac Cryder, Chandler Shockley, Breanna White, Taylor White, Jessica and Alayna Joyner, Ethan and Raylan.

Great Great Grandchildren of Mrs. Joyner are Mathew Henderson, Jase White, Joshua Shepherd, Isaiah Shepherd, Noalani Teresa Poppert, and Audryanna Poppert.

She leaves her long time special little dog, "Big Boy" who she loved dearly.

Visitation on Thursday evening from 7p.m. to 9p.m. at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen, Ga.
