Mr. Lester Brinson, Sr., age 88, died Thursday, March 1, 2012. He was a life long resident of Jenkins County, a retired carpenter and farmer, and a charter member and Deacon of Ogeechee Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Brinson was also a former Jenkins County Commissioner and Justice of the Peace. Member of the Georgia Farm Bureau and Woodmen of World and an avid Ogeechee River fisherman.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, at the Ogeechee Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Edwin Taylor, Butch Taylor, and Andy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sarah Becton Brinson; a daughter, Beth (Rodney) Collins; a son, Lester E. Brinson Jr. all of Millen; 2 sisters, Minnie Johnson and Susie Joyner both of Millen, 2 brothers, Wade Brinson of Savannah and Robert Brinson of Sylvania and 2 grandchildren, Tyler Brinson of Millen and Arley Brinson of Garland, TX; a great granddaughter, Nora Ellie Eskabar of Garland, TX; daughter-in-law, Susan J. Brinson; 3 sisters-in-laws and a brother-in-law, Claudia Brinson, Betty Bargeron, Dorothy (Larry) Ketchum.
Active Pallbearers will be, Jerry Brinson, Wade Brinson, Jr., Frankie Brinson, Matt Brinson, Steve Brinson, Danny Brinson, Randy Johnson, and Howell Bargeron.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Morris Johnson, Larry Brinson, James Brinson, Taylor Brinson, Ronnie Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Hugh Johnson, Troy Standridge, Jimmie Edenfield, F. A. Black, W. T. Williams, and Don Gay.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
