Larry Purvis' Obituary
Millen, Ga.-Larry Purvis, 61, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at University Hospital in Augusta after a long illness.
He had lived in Jenkins County most of his life, was a truck driver, mechanic and farmer, and member of West Millen Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at West Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Fork Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Overstreet Purvis; 2 daughters, Stephanie Purvis and her husband Steven Sikes of Sardis and Miranda Purvis of Millen; a son, Brad Purvis of Athens; a brother, Howard Hargrove of Perkins; and 3 grandchildren including Steven Sikes II
Active pallbearers will be Joel Ray, Justin Ray, Bernie Thompson, Rick McNeely, John Atkinson, Joey Davis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Butch Harbuck, Michael Ellis, Jimmy Overstreet, Danny Miles, Freddie Brinson, and Arthur Brinson.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday at Crowe-Fields funeral home in Millen.
