Larry Gene Clifton, 75, of Millen, Georgia, passed away on February 11, 2026.

A life-long resident of Jenkins County, born in Millen, he was the son of Elza & Betty Clifton. He was a graduate of Jenkins County High School and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

He worked in the hardware business for over 50 years starting at Wilson Hardware then on to hardware sales with Orgill finishing his career with W.B. Miller & Sons. He was known for his work ethic and common-sense salesmanship.

In 1972, he married Wanda Wells Clifton and together they built a life for more than fifty-three years. He was a devoted, patient, and loving father to Ashley and Jeremy.

He enjoyed spending time in his wood shop making furniture, baskets, toys, and swings. He took joy in making his world-famous peanut brittle and sharing it far and wide with friends, family members, and clients. He also loved sharing fishing stories of growing up on the Ogeechee River.

He is survived by his wife Wanda Clifton, sons, Ashley Clifton (Tina) and Jeremy (Kim), grandchildren, Eli, Piper, Tyler, and Abbie.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 14th at West Millen Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 10:00 with a memorial service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Millen Baptist Church.
