Kenneth Robert "KR" Shockley, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Millen, Sunday, October 6, 2024 after a courageous fought battle with cancer. His faith never wavering even to the end.
Kenny was born in Atlanta, GA on January 31, 1947, Graduated from Georgia State University and worked along with his father Robert Shockley Plumbing Company. He continued to grow the business along with his sons after his father's passing. He attended Millen Baptist Church.
When Kenny wasn't working he was sure to be found in the woods hunting or on the water fishing, two of his biggest passions. He made many friends all over the country with those two sports. He was an adored "Paw Paw" and he loved spending time with and teaching his grands all he could about God, hunting and fishing. When any of his grandchildren had a good hunt or caught a big fish, Paw Paw was always the first one they would call to tell.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents Robert Thomas "Trapper" Shockley and Frances Lavada Scrivner Shockley.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Debbie Shockley, his children, Kenneth Shockley, Sherry Brown (Russell), Robert Shockley (Sarah), Cyndi Smith, Becky Smith, Ronnie Smith (Kristy), Erica Dunn (Bill) and Lee Ogden (Katelyn); a sister Carol Shockley; and a brother, Tommy Shockley (Alisa); 17 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren along with loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Millen Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be 12 noon Thursday at Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Cam Wiggins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Robert Shockley, Kenneth Shockley, Robert Shockley Jr., Chandler Shockley Remington Shockley and Lee Ogden.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of Shockley Plumbing Co, members of the Bee Tree Hunting Club and others including Justin Chance, Bell Wheeler, Gene Wiggins, Mike Baldwin, Bobby Jenkins, Jim Strader Bill Evens, Billy Carson, Joey Bason, Bon Woods, and Bobby Swallenberg.
Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
