Katie Edenfield Lewis, 91, known lovingly to her family as "Ma Katie", entered into rest Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Pruitt Bethany Health Care Center in Millen.

She is the wife of the late Thomas Cecil Lewis, the daughter of the late William H. and Miriam Grubbs Edenfield, sister of the late Eunice Edenfield Williams, and J. R. Edenfield.

She was born in Candler County. She and her parents moved to Millen in 1946, where she remained. She was a proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

She loved her Lord and Savior, her children and her family, and her church.

She had obstacles to endure over her lifetime, as she had Polio at an early age, but she always faced them with determination and a smile on her face.

She worked over the years with her parents and siblings at the family grocery business, Edenfield Clover Farm. She took pride in the fact that at the age of 65 she went to work at Jenkins County Training Center and worked there until she was 80.

Shortly after arriving in Millen, she joined West Millen Baptist Church and was a dedicated member, holding many positions in the church. The last being Sunday School Teacher to the Adult Ladies Sunday School class for 15 years.

She is survived by her daughters, and son-in-law, Robin McClain, Bonnie and Gene Wiggins of Millen; grandchildren, JoEllen and Kris Lewis of Sylvania, Clint and Lisa Wiggins of Martinez, Genie and Jefferson Taffet of Athens, and M. J. and Alexis McClain of Millen; great grandchildren, Candace, Celissa, Colton, Kasen, Jace, Moses, Raylan, and Millie; great great grandchildren, Hayz, Trent, Ella Ty and Pate; a loving and devoted brother, Jimmie Edenfield of Millen; and numerous nieces and nephews which she dearly loved.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, graveside services will be held for the family only.
