Josie Hendley Womack, 93, entered into rest Friday, October 15, 2021. She was born in Jenkins County to the late Joseph and Sallie Hendley. She was a faithful member of Paynes Chapel Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years. She retired from Thompson Company as a seamstress and was a bookkeeper for Womack Farm. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Womack, two brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter Tina Welch (Ron); three granddaughters, Nicole Highsmith (Daniel) of North Augusta, SC, Jennifer Gay (Dobbie) of Millen, GA, Rachel Dart (Collin) of Colorado Springs, CO. Five great grandchildren, Trail and Hendley Highsmith, Josie, Dobbie IV, and Auzzie Gay, one sister Jimmie Elliot of Sardis, GA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hopkins (Marion) and Helen Womack; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm Monday at Paynes Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Perry Hearn officiating. Burial will follow at the Millen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews Joey Oliver, Joe Hendley, Randy Chandler and grandsons Daniel Highsmith, Dobbie Gay, Collin Dart.
