John Edgar Thurston Jr., 42, known to many as "Superman", of Millen, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his own home on February 8th.

John was a genuine, kind, loving, well respected man. Most would call him a big ol' teddy bear. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved spending time with his kids, wife, grandchildren, and family. He also enjoyed being outside, around his dogs, watching movies, & listening to music. John was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed it until 2018.

John is proceeded in death by his uncles Roy Thomas aka Tokyo, James Herbert aka Doddle Bug and Jerome Ryals aka Bug. Also his nephew Carson Bragg "Monster Monster".

John is survived by this wife Casie Marie Thurston of Millen, Ga. His 3 children; Malia Smith (Steven) of Talladega, Al, Cole Thurston, and Alexis Thurston both of Millen, Ga. 3 grandchildren Madelyn,Wyatt "Wyatt-mans", & Wayne Smith of Alabama. His parents John Thurston Sr. and Pat Thurston of Millen, GA. Brother Larry Wentzel of Swainsboro, GA and Sister Barbara (Steve) Weddon of Gough, GA. Along with many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends. Crowe-Fields Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

A Memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
