Mr. John A. Lane, Jr., 72, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Bethany Nursing Center after a long illness.
He was born in Jenkins County, was a farmer, and member of Rosemary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Cindy (Robert) Harris and Connie (Jay) Arnold; a son, Jeff Lane; 2 sisters, Debra (Dean) Brinson and Sherril (Tom) Jones; 3 brothers, Quinney (Nellie Jean) Lane; Billy Joe Lane, and Robert Bradham; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and Louise Barker, the mother of his children.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Lane Sr. and Meloda Wiggins Black and a grandson, Jeremy Hendley.
The family would like to thank Mattie Hardin and the staff of Pruitt Bethany, Amber Cates and the staff of Café on Cotton for their support during Mr. Lane's illness.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Elam Cemetery with Rev. Andy Allen officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
