Joe Curtis Chance died Saturday, July 6, 2024 in Millen, Georgia.

He was born November 9, 1941 in Millen, Georgia.  He owned and operated Chance Construction Company.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Chance; 3 daughters, Gina Whittenberger (Chad) of Augusta, GA, Lisa Summerall (BJ) and Lynn Harrelson (Homer), both of Millen, GA; sister, Joyce Hillis; five grandchildren, Robin Demshar (Dwain) of Statesboro, GA, Chris Harrelson, John Kitchens, both of Millen, Tylon Whittenberger of Statesboro, GA and Trace Whittenberger of Augusta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Effie Mae Chance; sister, Mary Jane Hadden Harmon and brother Thomas Chance.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Dry Branch Church with the Reverend Tim Fields officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until time of service.  Burial will follow at Dry Branch Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tylon Whittenberger, Trace Whittenberger, Russel Chance, Chad Freeman, Dwain Gray, Joe Sing and John Kitchens.
