Jimmy Don Oglesby, 81, of Millen, Georgia passed away on February 21, 2026 at home with his loving wife by his side. He was born on September 14, 1944 in Woodcliff, Georgia to Cecil and Reather Oglesby.

He lived in Jenkins County for most of his life. He graduated from Jenkins County High School. He was a member of the National Guard and was an insurance salesman until retiring in 2001.

In 1983, he married Gaynelle Dickey and together they built a life for 42 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering in his shop. He and Nell enjoyed traveling together and working in their yard. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his only grandchild, Kara.

He is survived by his wife, Nell Oglesby, son, Don (Tammy), grandchild, Kara (Austin), brother, Johnny Oglesby Sr., sister-in-law, Bonnie Garvin, brother-in-law, Ricky Dickey and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at the Millen Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 with Tim Fields officiating. Visitation will follow immediately after the service.

Pallbearers are Johnny Oglesby, Jr, Jacob Oglesby, Jesup Gaskins, Austin Hendrix, Stacy Garvin and Brian Knight.
