Mrs. Jewel McBride Becton, 84, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Pruitt Bethany after an extended illness.

She was born March 7, 1934 in Screven County but had lived most of her life in Jenkins County. She was a retired seamstress for Thomson Company and a member of West Millen Baptist Church.

She enjoyed gardening, her friends, and her special dog. She will be remembered as a compassionate friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Becton, son, Terry Becton, parents, George and Maud McBride, sisters, Gloria Becton and Lorine Thompson, and brother, Arnold McBride.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.

Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am Friday at Millen Cemetery with Rev. Andy Allen officiating.

Survivors include her siblings, Ottis McBride (Jeannette), Alton McBride (Mildred), and Jerry McBride of Sylvania, Barbara Speering (Randy) of North Augusta, SC, Fay Montgomery (Richard) of Sylvania, Gail Ramsey (Holmes) of Statesboro, and Wanda McBride of Dawsonville.
