Mr. Jerry Emmitt Joyner, 74, of Perkins, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Ogeechee Hospice in Statesboro.
He was born September 3, 1939 in Jenkins County, a retired construction worker and was a member of Habersham United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmitt O. Joyner and son, Kevin Phillip Joyner.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p. m. Friday at Habersham United Methodist Church with Rev. Sue Diebolt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his children Kathy (Horace) Weathersby, Millen; Connie Drawdy, Millen; Michael (Saixen) Joyner, Perkins; his mother, Sarah Reynolds Joyner of Perkins; two sisters, Jananne J. (Don) Tanner of Dublin and Judy Joyner of Lawrenceville; 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Active Pallbearers will be Horace Weathersby, III, Horace Weathersby, IV (Race), Alex Johnson, Jason Johnson, George Gunn & Rodney Becton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Doughman, Conner Doughman, Grady Lambert, Wes Johnson and Wayne Detwiler.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
