James Craig Jackson, Sr., (Roundhead) enter into the arms of Jesus peacefully September 2, 2024, at his home.  He was an avid fisherman as well as a hunter. He enjoyed life to the fullest and never met a stranger.  Knowing him was to love him. His different animal sounds or imitations that he would do for anyone especially to scare them were always a hit.

He went to work at Look Products, Millen, in 1968 in the glass department and retired as dedicated supervisor in December 2007, from Metal Industries, after 39 years running numerous departments. After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and later opened his own fish market, Round's Fishing Hole. He was very proud of it and it was also loved by the entire community. The fish market was located behind the family business known as Round's on Winthrope, which was named after him.

He was married to the love of his life, Linda Beard Jackson, for 54 years and they had 3 beautiful children, Christa, Al and Craig.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bertie Mae Jackson; son, James Craig Jackson, Jr.; in-laws, Al and Ortents (Miss Piggie) Beard; brothers, Andrew and Roland Jackson, David Bryant; sisters, Annie Jean Grahm and Nita Williams.

Left behind to cherish memories of him are: wife, Linda Beard Jackson, children, Christa Jackson Walters (Burt Rocker) and Alton (K.C.) Jackson all of Millen.  Two grandchildren that he cherished, Gannon Walters, Statesboro and Suzannah Walters of Millen. He was is also survived by two sisters, Vicki (Grady) Dixon, Sardis and Barbara Graham of Portal and also his two sisters-in-love, Marie (Ricky) Taylor and Joan (Ralph) Brown both of Millen.  He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He also left behind his faithful companion, Prissy. She brought him tons of joy and even shared his Cheetos.

Pallbearers will be: Luke Morris, Richard Taylor, Eric Tapley, Chuck Lindsey, Walter Williams, Shawn Boaen, Trent Lindsey, and Caleb Lindsey.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, 11:00 am at West Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Butch Taylor officiating.  Visitation with the family will be held in the church sanctuary one hour prior to the service.

Interment at Millen Cemetery will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor, to Jenkins County K911 Rescue or West Millen Baptist Church.
