Mr. James Michael "Mike" Birdwell, age 63, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 after a long illness.

He was born in Texarkana, TX but raised in Red Lick, TX. He graduated from Hooks High School in 1967 and received his degree from East Texas State University.
Mike moved to Georgia in May of 1986 to work with Brigadier Homes which became Cavalier Home Builders. He served as Production Manager for 12 years, Operations Manager for 5 years and General Manager for 6 years.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Merrill Birdwell, Sr. and Dana Ruth Stark Birdwell; brothers, Pete Birdwell and Keith Birdwell.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Millen Baptist Church with Revs. David Wheeler, Brad Boynton officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Lisa Sharpe Birdwell; a daughter, Kimberly Womack of Arkansas; 4 sons, Justin Birdwell and Patrick "Blaine" Birdwell of Texarkana, TX, Cody (Tara) Birdwell and Cale Birdwell of Millen, and a step-son, Mark (Sheri) Randell of Harrodsburg, KY; a brother, Steve (Debbie) Birdwell of Red Lick, TX; 2 grandsons, James Ryan and Garrett Womack of Arkansas; and several special nephews and nieces.

Active Pallbearers will be Tracy Edenfield, Ed Fuller, Bill Stuart, Richard Craig, DeRoy Dailey, Randy Broxton, Eddie Sherrod, and Willie Sapp.

Honorary Pallbearers will be David Roberson, Greg Brown, Hiller Spann, Dick Kluttz, Joe Bell, Ed Feagin, Barry Burrell, Richard Odom, Robert Oglesby, Vanessa Pierce, Mike Farr, Norman Scalf, and Larry Culp.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crowe-Fields.
