Obituary

On Saturday September 28, 2019, Jack Gardner, loving husband and father went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 75.

Jack was born May 24, 1944 to Jack and Velma Gardner in Brunswick, GA. He was raised in Toombs County but moved to Jenkins County in 1986.

Jack was a proud Union Ironworker and 40 year member of Local 709.

The lives touched by Jack stretch far beyond his family. He gifted his wisdom, kindness and work ethic on anyone the Lord put in front of him. He would leave a warm bed on a cold night to help a total stranger. He was a great friend to everyone he knew and has left us with so much.

He will be deeply missed. There will be only one Jack.

Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Lyons City Cemetery in Lyons, GA with Rev. Jeff Jones officiating.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce Gardner; three children, Jeff Gardner (Tori), Liz Walker (Jerome), and Brenda Schmidt (Jason); nine grandchildren, Dalton Barefoot (Quinton), A. J. Walker, Megan Belk (Dusty), Neil Gardner, Emily Gardner, Faith Thompson, David Royal, Aubrey Mantooth, and Gage Royal; and four great grandchildren, Alli Sanders, Liam Belk, Charlie Gardner, and Brendalynn Belk.
