Obituary

Mrs. Iris Johnson Roberson went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. She was born in Garfield, Georgia on March 4, 1924, the daughter of Lloyd Johnson and Fanny Burke Johnson. She resided in Emanuel County as a homemaker most of her life. Her first love was spending time with her family and loved ones. Cooking, taking care of her family, and enjoying the beauty of flowers were three of her greatest joys.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Johnson and Fanny Burke Johnson; her brothers, Ernest Johnson, Eugene Johnson, and Robert (Bob) Johnson; her sisters, Sidney Reynolds and Lanell Hendley; and her husband, Van Roberson.

She is survived by her son, Mike (Wanda) Newton of Grovetown; two brothers, Lloyd Johnson, Jr. of Stone Mountain and James Johnson of Millen; a sister, Letrell Coleman of Twin City; two grandchildren, Brooke (John) Kunstbeck and Brett (Katie) Newton; and three great grandsons, Ben Kunstbeck, Grant Kunstbeck, and Briar Newton.

Active Pallbearers are nephews, Stephen Johnson, Steve Hendley, Donnie Hendley, J.P. Owens, David Alexander, Joseph (Bunny) Johnson, Adam Johnson, Bobby Wayne Johnson, and Barry Williams.

The family will receive friends at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen, Georgia on Thursday evening, May 24, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Garfield with Reverends Franklin Sasser and Randy Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
