Mr. Herbert F. (Sonny) Edenfield, died Friday, January 19, 2024, at his residence in Millen, GA. after a brief illness.

He was born in Jenkins County on July 6, 1936, to the late Herbert and Audrey Steed Edenfield. Sonny was a retired sewing machine mechanic from Samson Mfg. and Milliken & Company and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.

He loved square dancing and the outdoors; his passion was fishing the Ogeechee and Savannah Rivers. He was a regular at The Café on Cotton and Virginia's Coffee Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Audrey Edenfield; brother Thomas P. Edenfield; son Tyron Edenfield and mother of his sons Janie Ruth Lewis Edenfield

Graveside Services will be 1:00 pm Monday January 22nd at Oak Hill Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Joshua Johnson officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

Survivors include his sons, Todd Edenfield (Mark Blankenship) of Perry, GA. and Tracy Edenfield (Susan) of Millen, GA.  his sister, Yvonne Johnson (Casey); brother, Dana Edenfield all of Millen. Devoted companion Carolyn Barton, Hephzibah, GA.

Sonny also has five grandchildren, Molly (Austin) Farrow and Emily (Chuck) Cates, Celissa Smith and Candace Waters and Colton Edenfield; great grandchildren, Charlie Rose Farrow, Lynnlee Kay Cates, Hayz Lee Brannen, Trentin Paul Waters, Ella and Pate Smith.
