Obituary

Mr. Henry Edward Thompson, 69, of Millen, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Augusta.

He was born in Jenkins County, a U. S. Army Veteran who served in Germany. Edward was a retired owner and contractor for RSR Builders, a member of the Millen Lions Club and the Millen Baptist Church where he was in the Boch Sunday School Class. Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing, and U. G. A. football.

Funeral Services will be 2:30 p. m. Sunday at Millen Baptist Church with visitation in the Social Hall one hour prior to the service. Dr. Maurice Crowder and Rev. David Wheeler will officiate and burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Earline Cheney Thompson; 2 daughters, Foye (Al) Knight and Tiffany (Hud) McTeer of Millen, a son, Henry (Candace) Thompson of Glennville; a brother, Bill (Paula) Thompson of Columbus; and 7 grandchildren, James Edward Knight, Cheney Kent Knight, Cody Sanders McTeer, Caroline Thompson McTeer, Brannen Cole Thompson, Jency Ava Thompson, Molly Elizabeth Thompson; and Sugar.

Active Pallbearers will be Ray Roberts, Olli Moore, Chris Lee, Kenny Shockley, King Rocker, Lee Wilson, Charlie Dempsey, C. H. McTeer Jr., Bill Knight and Gene Wiggins.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the JCHS class of 64, Millen Lions Club, and the Boch Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or one of Edward's favorites, Wounded Warriors, or J. C. H. S. Athletics.
